Do you have a track record of building relationships with State government agencies? Does your experience include generating services revenue from State Health and Human Services and/or Managed Care Organizations? Outlier is seeking a Business Development Executive responsible for lead generation and business development including building partnerships and engaging with a variety of stakeholders within state and local government agencies. This position is responsible for contacting potential new clients, gaining insights into customer needs, and securing new business opportunities. Our ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of the overall SaaS business model, including how to establish and maintain effective customer relationships while delivering solutions that meet customer expectations and needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Proactively plan and execute business development activities focused on generating new business opportunities in strategic markets (in-person and virtually)
  • Represent Outlier Technologies and grow brand awareness of SansWrite in key markets to prospective government clients through presentations and demonstrationss
  • Establish strong business relationships with professional associations and state and local government leaders
  • Identify opportunities that benefit the client and deliver custom tailored solutions that solve clients' unique problems
  • Keep up with current and future policies, practices, and trends in the public sector, with the competition, and in the marketplace
  • Utilize social media and marketing tools to generate quality leads
  • Cold call and prospect to generate leads that result in virtual and onsite visits
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline (3.5-4x quota) and provide accurate sales forecasts
  • Monitor the market, maintain an awareness of competitor activity and pass this information through proper channels
  • Negotiate new contracts with clients, including amendments and extensions
  • Document and keep accurate records of client engagement and partnership development through CRM platform
  • Create and execute quarterly and annual business development plans to support Outlier Technologies' growth goals

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • 3+ years of demonstrable government business development and deal management experience
  • Understanding of how government agencies work and spend money while having a proven track record of success in the market
  • A bottom-line orientation that is driven by accomplishing objectives and goals through obstacles and adversity
  • Ability to manage and structure large enterprise deals from initial outreach through client onboarding
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate professionally with government agency leadership
  • History of working with procurement offices including State and Local competitive solicitations
  • Preferred experience selling Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Ability to understand the needs of the client and provide creative solutions
  • Experience working in a small business and a remote environment preferred
  • Self-starter who can operate independently, can creatively problem solve, and is energized by challenges with superb attention to detail
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
